Real Stories of Collective Leadership
in Action
We don’t just talk about collective leadership, we apply it.
Here are examples of the models, approaches, and results we’ve co-created with partners.

Mana wāhine at the heart of System Change
With local leadership at the centre, we supported the co-design and delivery of wānanga that brought whānau, hapū māmā, kaumātua, and providers together to reimagine the future of maternity care.
There was a strong focus on addressing unmet need today and reducing risks for future generations.
This kōrero is already influencing how Te Whatu Ora and local partners design the next chapter of care in our region.
"What stood out was the sense of safety, warmth, and manāki that underpinned each session. Whānau shared openly, and the presence of tamariki, kaumātua, hapū māmā, and community providers reflected the breadth of connection and trust nurtured over time.”

Client Success
Co-designing Care
With whānau, General Practices, the Primary Health Alliance, and Te Whatu Ora around the table, we helped to facilitate the co-design of a new model of care for After Hours care in Opotiki.
The focus was on addressing the immediate access challenges faced by the community while also creating a more sustainable model for practices and system partners. Together, we translated lived experiences, data, and clinical insights into a pathway for care that is timely, culturally grounded, and connected across the system.
"What made the difference was having all voices in the room, community, practices, and Te Whatu Ora. The process created space for honest kōrero and practical solutions that we could all own"

Innovative Solutions
A roadmap for whānau focused service delivery
With whānau voices and values at the centre, we helped KŌ Kollective shape a five-year strategic plan that connects everyday mahi to long-term horizons.
Built on their mission to support whanau to dream, activate and thrive, CoLEAD engaged with both the Board and Kaimahi to develop a strategy that balanced aspiration and the constraints of being a small charitable service.
"CoLEAD helped us turn our aspirations into a clear plan that keeps the heart of KŌ Kollective strong while creating real opportunities for growth and impact."
